Hey Buddy!

It’s cold outside and it smells like winter… Winter has finally arrived!

Now that the first snow has been falling in Romania, all we’re thinking about is the winter sports and vacation.

Traveling with kids can be stressful, especially if you’re thinking at going in a ski resort most of all for them. If you are a rookie or you’ve got kids to learn skiing or snowboarding, meanwhile visiting the one of the best Christmas Market in Europe this Winter (acording to AboutInTime Magazine), we recommend you to come in Paltinis, Sibiu.

If you’re wandering how a ski school for toddles work, we’re about to tell.

We’re calling it Kindergarten on Skis and it aims children between 3 and 6 years old.  Technically a child can begin to ski as soon as they can run and jump, however, every child develops at their own rate – and someone’s two year old can often be the same build as a three or four year old. A broad guideline on when to start them skiing would be 3 to 4 years old. The actual ski school programs, where you strap skis on and get on the snow, have historically started for children around 3-years-old. Here, in the Kindergarten on Skis, they have the opportunity to get used with the ski boots, with the cold weather and winter clothes, play with snow and on skis under the guidance of the greatest educators in Paltinis.

In a Ski School, kids will have contact with the snow and skiing in a fun and educational way, by playing games and participating in cotests.

The most important thing is to prepare your kids for this experience. Show them the snow, let them be natural with the slippery area and the cold thing called snow, play friendly, let them be comfortable in the winter clothes, with the gloves and hat. Make sure they eat well this days they stay a lot outside because they burn more calories and they need very nutritive food. Beside all of this, they need to rest well, so don’t skip the naps and a good night sleep.

After you do this, just trust your child and the professional instructors you chose. This means you will respect the house rules, meaning if they ask you to let the kid and take your time, do that. Kids tend to be distracted if parents are around them. Think about this and enjoy your free hour, having a hot drink and a nice chat or fulfill yourself with the nice view.

Another helpful hint is that kids under 5, should have no more than one hour/ lesson in a day, because it’s really challenging for them. If you see your kids really enjoy it and wants so more, schedule one hour in the morning and another one in the afternoon, maybe after some refreshments and a good nap.

Honestly, even most 3 or 4 year olds that will only have one ski trip per year are probably not going to really be skiing, but that doesn’t mean you should avoid ski school. It’s a good training for discipline and mobility.

If you want to come in Sibiu County for the best Ski and Snowboard School, please let us know if you want us to help with accommodation or a vacation package. Meanwhile, you can see here the Kindergarten on Skis program.

This was Gio with the tips,
Enjoy!
