TRANSYLVANIA – THE REGION OF LEGENDS AND FAIRYTALE PLACES

Transylvania is a tourist destination of excellence, always present in the charts made by specialized publications. Offering attractions and objectives in accordance with all preferences in terms of tursim. Transylvania is a region that enjoys both spectacular relief and an exceptional cultural heritage.

Being a region of story, we will also find some legends here, especially the one related to Count Dracula, known all over the world. Besides all kinds of legends and amazing stories, we will also find some fairy-tale places worth visiting, such as:

Castelul Corvinilor, Hunedoara: is one of the most beautiful medieval castles in Europe. Built by Iancu de Hunedoara in the 15th century, the Cornvin Castle links many legends and stories, including the place where Vald Tepes was held prisoner and where it was transformed into Dracula. Once you arrive at the castle you will be transposed into the medieval atmosphere of the 15th and 16th centuries.

Castelul Bran: competes with the one in Hunedoara in the charts of the most beautiful castles in Europe. This is a symbol of Romania. The castle is considered one of the most frightening destinations in Europe.

One of the reasons why tourists, especially foreigners, choose to visit Bran Castle is represented by the legend that was created around this edifice, a legend that has enjoyed great success abroad of Romania. Becoming, as the years passed, the most famous story related to Transylvania, the legend of Count Dracula somehow referred to the ruler  „Vlad Tepeş” .

Lacul Roșu, Cheile Bicazului: is one of the strangest lakes in Romania, also known as Lake Killer.The waters of the lake have unnatural shades, with tones of red and purple, and the gloss of the water is pierced by numerous pine and fir, giving it a slightly scary appearance. It is the largest natural dam in Romania.

Cetatea Sarmisegetusa Regia: is the place where the genesis of the Romanian people took place. This is a place with a strong spiritual and cultural load.

The fortress is included in the UNESCO heritage, is the largest Dacian fortification in Romania and the place where treasures, jewels and Dacian coins were found.

Cetatea Alba Carolina, Alba Iulia: is a star-shaped fortification that attracts thousands of tourists annually. Within the walls of the fortress was established the Great Union of 1918 and is a place of reference for the history of the Roman people. The fortress was built 3 centuries ago and is one of the impressive historical monuments of Transylvania.

Thanks to these amazing legends, places and stories, the Transylvania region has become popular all over the world.
