Hey buddy!

Words are hard to follow this days, I know. I’ll try my best to upgrade to some nice video content, but still, I know there are some of you sneaking around to read some posts time to time.

On this last October Saturday have been the last #brunch in Sibiu County.

I was part of this experience and I can say it’s one of the ways to support the local businesses.

In the morning we did the cold snacks platings, the local chefs prepared the main dishes and after everything was arranged in the lovely garden that hosted the event, we opened the doors for the guests and what lovely guests in what a warm day!

Brunch buffet with local, seasonal specialties included in its menu list bread with a fatty paste, meat balls, cheese, eggplant salad, beans paste, pies, cakes, homemade bread, pickles, seasonal fruits as nuts, grapes, apples, quines, oh and lots of tasty things.

But this brunches aren’t only about the food. A village tour and around the surrounding hills started after everyone had the chance to taste the goodies and they were fulfilled with workshops for children and adults as painting and making bread, even try to working the loom and weave to war. We actually had the chance to step in a typical house of the area dating from 1913, then visited a saved houses complex. There were five saved old houses, and another one waiting on the ground, dating from 1800s literally moved piece by piece from their spot to this place and then rebuilt. Just as you can see them in a folklore museum.

Primitive Romanian Style.

The Guest House that hosted the brunch is amazing by its enormous garden, its look given by old things that have been kept around and in the house and its lovely host, Irina. You can find it in Porumbacu de Sus 295. Go see it with your eyes, they’ve got even tree houses there!

Keep money in the local economy – the message was extraordinary in my eyes! This beautiful woman bring a great message today. I was excited to read the lines and more excited to had this meeting(thank you, Andreea for having the honor!). What to say her father guided us through Porumbacu de Sus Tour beside Cristian Cismaru, the founder of Asociatia My Transilvania, Eat Local and many more great projects that sustain focus on Romania’s tourism.

Next year the brunch tradition is going further starting with April. Keep close for news!

I was Gio on the buttons,

Enjoy!
